Outreach Ministries

It is important to the members of Hope to be committed to being a "discipleship community"--reaching out faithfully to other people for the sharing of the Good News of the risen Jesus Christ.  Our Outreach Ministries have allowed us to grow in our faith by serving others.

Happy February Everyone!
The Outreach team has been helping children at Mountain View Elementary who might be in need of winter clothes. A few weeks ago the team was able to deliver 40 more sweatpants and leggings to the school. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us do this!
During the month of January we have been collecting Easy Mac and fruit cups to help elderly shut-ins in Gilmer County. We will leave the collection box in the narthex for another week or two since we have not been able to worship in-person recently.
The Outreach team will have its 3rd Annual Diaper Drive Luncheon after the 2nd service on February 27th, 2022. If the Covid situation improves before then, we will be serving soup, sandwiches and dessert!! All you need to do is bring size 3-6 diapers or pull-ups! Even if we cannot eat together we will still collect diapers.
The diapers will be donated to Safe Choice Pregnancy Center in Ellijay. Safe Choice offers parenting classes and teaches responsibility to young mothers and fathers. By attending classes they earn baby bucks which are used to purchases baby items that are donated. After each class the items they earned are put into a donated diaper bag and when they have completed all 10 classes they may take their bag home full of wonderful and needed items for their baby.
